An idiom is defined as - a group of words in a fixed order that has a particular meaning that is different from the meanings of each word on its own.


Idiom:
the shoe is on the other foot

Meaning:
the opposite is true, the places are changed

Example:
The shoe is on the other foot and my neighbor has to deal with the same problems that we must deal with.
