Phrasal verbs consists of a basic verb + another word or words. The two or three words that make up a phrasal verb form a short 'phrase' - which is why we call them 'phrasal verbs'.

carry someone around (with oneself)
Meaning / Example:
1. to be the source of transport for someone, usually a child. > I'm tired of carrying this baby around with me everywhere. Can't I buy a baby carriage?
2. to have in mind the memory or a sense of presence of another person with oneself. > I have been carrying my dead grandfather around with me for years.
