Phrasal Verb
Phrasal verbs are compound verbs that result from combining a verb with an adverb or a preposition. The resulting compound verb is idiomatic.

Meaning:
to hold someone or something in a hidden or protected position.
Example:
Please keep the noise down so Fred won't know it's a party when he comes in.
