Phrasal Verb


Phrasal verbs are two or more words that together act as a completely new verb with a meaning separate from those of the original words.


Phrasal Verb:
burn someone up

Meaning / Example:

1. to destroy someone by fire.
> The house fire burned the victims up.

2. to make someone very angry; to make someone endure the "heat" of rage.
> You really burn me up! I'm very angry at you!
