Phrasal verbs are two or more words that come together to give us a new verb with a different meaning from the original words.

kink up [for something]
Meaning:
to develop kinks or tangles.
Example:
The leather parts tend to shrink and kink up in the damp weather.
Phrasal verbs are compound verbs that result from combining a verb with an adverb or a preposition. The resulting compound verb is idiomatic.
