Phrasal Verb


A phrase that combines a verb with a preposition or adverb or both and that functions as a verb whose meaning is different from the combined meanings of the individual words.


Phrasal Verb:
rig something up

Meaning:
to prepare something, perhaps on short notice or without the proper materials.

Example:
We don't have what's needed to make the kind of circuit you have described, but I think we can rig something up anyway.
