Phrasal Verb
Phrasal verbs are two or more words that come together to give us a new verb with a different meaning from the original words.
Phrasal Verb:
switch off
Meaning / Example:
1. [for something] to turn itself off.
> At midnight, all the lights switched off automatically.
2. [for someone] to stop paying attention; to become oblivious to everything.
> I got tired of listening and switched off.
A phrase that consists of a verb with a preposition or adverb or both, the meaning of which is different from the meaning of its separate parts.
